Praise in Motion is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian Dance Ministry dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through music and dance.
The company was founded in 1992 by Kathy Thomas-Law and her long time student and friend, Rhonda Oltjenbruns. Through the years, Praise in Motion has become one of the premier Christian dance companies in the state. Praise in Motion's dancers have a strong technical foundation in ballet as well as other forms of dance. They are committed to using their God given talents for His glory rather than self-glory. Many Praise in Motion dancers are also dance teachers, allowing them the opportunity to raise up another generation of dancers with a heart for praise and worship dance.
There are three levels of dancers within Praise in Motion: company members, apprentices and invitational students (young dance students with great potential who are invited to train with the company). Auditions are held in the spring of the year for placement within these levels. Classes in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, and many other genres as well as rehearsal for the company and its apprentices are held at the studios of En Pointe School of Dance. Praise and worship sessions are also offered through Praise in Motion at En Pointe for the non-dancer.
Praise in Motion performs two full-length theatre concerts each year. Presented at Christmas time, The Gift tells the story of Christ from His birth, to His death and resurrection, through HIs coming again. Presented in the spring, In His Name, features a new and varied repertoire each year which highlights such Christian themes as the tabernacle, redemption and creation.
Praise in Motion also performs at the request of various churches and ministries without charge; accepting only love offerings to defray expenses.
