As a young dancer, Rhonda Oltjenbruns began her training at the Decatur School of Ballet under Marie Roberts. She joined the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, performing in its very first Nutcracker. During these years, Rhonda studied under many teachers including Stanley Zompakos and Kathy Thomas-Law. She attended Brenau College where she majored in Ballet Performance and Early Childhood Education. While in college, she danced with the Gainesville Ballet Company under the direction of Diane Callahan. She has performed such roles as Dew Drop, Snow Queen, Marzipan and Spanish in Nutcracker and the part of Carlotta Grisi in Pas De Quatre.
Rhonda began teaching dance as an assistant under Kathy Thomas-Law in 1980. After earning her degree in dance, she returned to the En Pointe School of Dance as a faculty member. Rhonda has taught at En Pointe for 20 years. Rhonda continues to share the “Miss. Kathy influence” in her training of other dancers who have since become En Pointe faculty members themselves.
In 1992, along with Kathy Thomas-Law, Rhonda formed Praise In Motion, a Christian Dance Ministry. Rhonda’s mission as co-director of this company is to provide the highest quality dance training in a Christian atmosphere for the purpose of worship and ministry. Rhonda teaches intermediate-level ballet and instructs and rehearses all levels of the company.
